Time, the great motivator,

always reminding us that it is fleeing quickly

from the time we are born, moving us on to grow and learn,

places to go, progress to be made,

stirring us to move ahead.

Time clocks and alarm clocks, always a reminder, driving us, inciting us,

motivating us

to move faster, drive faster,

work harder.

Deadlines and crunch time,

burdens and obligations,

all impelling us to go, and hurry

and get it done.

Infants can’t conceive it,

lovers can’t get enough of it,

youth waste it,

and the old just want a little more of it.

And when our lives wind down, like the sands in the sandglass,

you can’t stop it.

Time. It’s what sparks us, inspires us, provokes us, prompts us.

It excites us, induces us, leads us, persuades us.

It motivates us.
